No Longer Empty is delighted to announce the fall session of its NLE Curatorial Lab ("NLE Lab"). No Longer Empty has established a bi-annual (Spring/Fall) opportunity in which emerging curators will build on their existing knowledge and have first hand experience and support in developing and staging a community-based and site-responsive exhibitions.

Combining practical experience and theoretical discussions, this intensive twelve-week program focuses on bringing new areas of research and knowledge into the curatorial process. The support networks and creative environments that New York City and No Longer Empty can offer, will provide the participants with the resources to explore and develop new ideas that can be tested in the environment of a supervised exhibition plan and its realization.

The program is open to emerging curators, both local and international, and will be supervised at every stage by NLE Chief Curator Manon Slome, guest curator Sara Reisman and notable arts professionals.

The program will guide participants through six distinct phases:

1) Fundamentals of curating;
2) Historical and community based research;
3) Development of exhibition themes and selection of artists;
4) Creation and installation of the exhibition with all the supplementary materials;
5) Running the exhibition and public programming and
6) Evaluation and impact assessment.
