No Longer Empty appeals to many for a myriad of reasons. Just to give you a sense of the breadth and variety of what we have accomplished with one exhibition, read below.
In our last exhibition “This Side of Paradise,” we brought No Longer Empty’s mission to the Bronx. We debuted a 6,000 empty sq ft mansion, featured 32 talented artists, commissioned 19 unique artworks, hosted 2,000 children in our 23 educational tours and workshops, trained 11 interns of which two have become staff, and collaborated with 44 local organizations that are now our friends. Some of these collaborations that started with No Longer Empty have become permanent series or initiatives that grow and make our communities better. We welcomed a total of 10,000 visitors and residents in 2 short months and introduced 3 prospective tenants to the site! The Bronx Deputy Borough President’s office wrote that NLE “Did the Bronx Proud.”
With your continued support, we can launch more powerful, pulsating exhibitions next year. Presenting for the first time in Queens, our next exhibition “How Much Do I Owe You?” will transform an empty neo-gothic bank and its vaults in Long Island City, December 12 - March 13, 2013. Twenty-four talented artists will address the issues of debt, value, and exchange. Notions related to increasing financial literacy will be a major component of our innovative educational program.
We are proud to have Councilmember Jimmy van Bramer’s enthusiastic support and want you to add your name to that list! Help us ensure that this exhibition, its artists, and its children programs can have a transformative experience on people and the community.
We have relied on donations of $2,500, $1,000, $500, $250 or $100 to make these world-class exhibitions and ensure NLE continues to revitalize communities through art, learning, and civic engagement. I encourage you to donate now, today.
No Longer empty is a registered 501c(3) public charity. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
