Bloodbank : Blood drive

Over the past two months, Artefacting's Bloodbank team has been speaking with residents to find out what the lifeblood of the Long Island City community is. They've engaged the Long Island City Queens community on the street and video interviewed 32 people on what blood is worth in the Bloodbank incubator space.  Residents have spoken about so much through their blood with blood recipients sharing survival stories, blood anemics sharing words of gratitude, student and youth sharing thoughts of inspiration and giving, and others sharing views on how blood is perhaps that which makes us one people.  Now the Bloodbank team will be taking these words of inspiration to the street as public art to inspire people to sign up and give blood.

Join us on February 10th from 1-7pm at "How Much Do I Owe You?" to start the street campaign for the blood drive.  Using resident's interviews about their experiences with blood as inspiration, we will be making posters to help spread the word about the event.  Join us in getting people inspired to help those in need by giving at a special artistic blood drive on February 18th from 3:30 to 9:30pm. After three months of discussing the value of blood, Artefacting and No Longer Empty are asking for everyone to give back to the Long Island City community.

The blood drive will take place at:
