Artist Talk & Dinner "Art and Technology"
Thursday, June 09 2011
7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
A rather special event is being organized around the closing of About Face exhibition. If you have seen "Midnight in Paris" we are hoping it will feel like a salon of the past.
Join No Longer Empty for cocktails and a private tour of the exhibition given by No Longer Empty's Founder and Curator Manon Slome. Afterward, enjoy a multi-course seated dinner in the exhibition space while participating artists Maria Josè Arjona and James Tunick discuss Art and Technology, moderated by Jovana Stokic, Curator of the Abramovic Studio at Location One. This fundraiser is organized in collaboration with Blond on the Run Catering.
Colombian born Maria José Arjona has exhibited widely in the USA and Europe and is to be counted among Latin America's most innovative performing artists. Her artistic research is focused on the interaction between herself and the audience, the presence of the human body and it's relation to technology.
New York born and based James Tunick engages his audience in interactive multi media pieces in different ways: through the movement of their bodies in the exhibition space or through the use of everyday technology like cell phones or emails.
Serbian born and New York based curator Jovana Stokic is an expert for performance art who fosters artistic research in this field in all its facets.
