Live Performance at Teresa Diehl: Breathing Waters
Sunday, October 25 2015
4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Inspired by Yemaya, the Afro-Cuban orisha of the ocean, the dancers of Areytos Performance Works will cycle their way through the interactive labyrinth created by Venezuelan-Lebanese artist Teresa Diehl entitled Breathing Waters. This site-specific dance responds to the sculptural work of Diehl and the theme of water at the Seaport. All ages welcome!
Areytos Performance Works is a dance theater company working at the crossroads of performance art, African-Caribbean dances, contemporary modern dance, collaboration and stage environments. APW has partnered with No Longer Empty using site specific dance theater as a way to engage the public with historic sites like the old Bronx Borough Courthouse and the Seaport Culture District.
Seaport Culture District:
117 Beekman St. (enter at rear of the building, at the side of the Titanic Memorial Park courtyard)
Subway: 2, 3, 4, 5, A, C to Fulton Street
