No Longer Bored Family Day with Artist Giorgio Guidi

1125 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY

Sunday, December 13 2015
12:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Join us Sunday, December 13 for an art-making workshop for youth of all ages with artist Giorgio Guidi. Participants will create artworks that will be wheat pasted onto The Forum No. 2: Tatlin’s Tower, celebrating the Bronx’s rich tradition of graffiti art. The Forum, a semi-permanent structure being built at the Andrew Freedman Home over the course of Intersecting Imaginaries, will remain indefinitely as a site of creativity and play for youth.

The Forum takes the form of one of Guidi’s three designs that were voted on during the exhibition’s opening reception. The three renderings are modeled after structures representing public assembly and justice: the Bronx Courthouse, a Roman Basilica, and the winning design, Tatlin’s Tower. Inspired by Vladimir Tatlin’s unrealized Monument to the Third International (Tatlin’s Tower), The Forum stands as an emblem of social equality and community empowerment. The three proposed drawings are on view at 900 Grand Concourse through Sunday, December 13.
