The Room Where it Happened

Saturday, July 29 2017
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Please join NLE Chief Curator Manon Slome, artists Shervone Neckles and Ezra Wube, and designer Manolo Ampudia for The Room Where It Happened, a conversation around the processes involved in the Community Art & Data Lab as part of ART ZONE CG-91 at Kings County Hospital Center.

Go behind the scenes to learn how community imaginings and dialogues shape Ezra Wube’s diorama-like portrait of the neighborhood, and how Shervone Neckles’ installations contribute to an artistic practice immersed in wellness. Speaking to the role of social design in community engagement, designer Manolo Ampudia will share the research that informed his work as part of ART ZONE CG-91. Audience participation in the conversation is welcomed and encouraged.

ART ZONE CG-91 is located in room CG-91 in building C at Kings County Hospital, 451 Clarkson Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11203. The entrance is located near E. 37th Street and Clarkson Avenue. Subway: 2, 5 to Winthrop Street
