Buy tickets here.

Set in the 17th century, this upcoming repertory piece pays homage to the ancient origins of this classic tale dating back beyond 300 B.C. It is a depiction that explores a narrative long lost to the passage of time. Artistic Director Safi A. Thomas states, "It is a distinct representation of the intertwined narratives of ancient folklore, Perrault, Grimm, and even Hans Christian Anderson via 'The Little Match Girl.' " In this classical piece, Thomas explores gender, rape, sexuality, morality, violence, regret, patriarchy and female empowerment through this enigmatic rendition of a classic fairy tale.

11 p.m.: "Uthlanga," a party presented by The Hip-Hop Dance Conservatory & Yvonne Christa Jewelry Company.

"Long ago, before man or any animals roamed the earth, there was just darkness and one very large seed. The seed sank into the earth and from it long reeds began to grow. They were called Uthlanga, which means the source of all things."

Silent auction of exclusive pieces from the Yvonne Christa jewelry collection will be modeled live. Wine will be served at cash bar. Uniquely catered desserts served.
