Theater: The Stage is Set: For the Bronx, By the Bronx

Xaviera Simmons, Casita Maria Center for Arts & Education, and No Longer Empty present a night of music and dance.

5–6pm | Areytos Performance Works

Areytos Performance Works presents a mash up of repertory from “RGB: Batey Macorix” and “…Otro Lado,” contributing another layer to No Longer Empty’s group exhibition at the Old Bronx Borough Courthouse.

Featuring dancers: Beatrice Capote, Alethea Pace and Candace Thompson.

The performance will begin outside the building at 5pm, and will move to the ground floor, the basement, and culminate on the first floor. Listen for the whistle rhythm that will guide audience members.

6–7pm | Retumba!

Retumba! (Resound!) is a unique dance and music ensemble that celebrates the human spirit with universal rhythms and resounding music. Focusing on the rich culture of Latin-European to Afro-Caribbean origins, Retumba! has been inspiring, teaching, and engaging people since 1981.
