The major themes that form the conceptual framework for Justen Ladda’s art are change, transformation, balance and illusion. Concerned with the viewer’s perspective as he/she moves through the space, the architectural context in which this installation progressed is brought to life by the changing vantage of the viewer. The two figures, the water and shapes seem magically to materialize with shifts in perception and position. The best way to see the two figures in this installation is to stand in the footprints painted on the floor and close one eye and adjust the body height to about 5’3” eye level.
