Youth Action Council (YAC) is a year-long youth development program for NYC teens to connect with artists, scholars and activists to explore the intersections of the arts and social justice.

Youth Action Council (YAC) is an academic year-long program that meets bi-weekly to build social engagement and creative leadership by and for young people. Themes will explore the intersections of art, environment, human rights, politics, leadership, historical awareness, and more.

Activities:

  • Workshops and skill-building exercises that combine leadership development, political education and art-making
  • Cross-city conversations with other young leaders
  • Collective development of two public events
  • Participation as ambassadors of a youth perspective at wider NLE events

In order to support teens of all socioeconomic backgrounds NLE will facilitate transportation, supply food during meetings and offer stipends to Council members.

No Longer Empty is excited to open up applications to all New York City youth interested in participating.

Applications for the 2019-20 term are now closed.
