Jameco Vibes is an exhibition of youth artwork featured with Jameco Exchange, and is created by No Longer Empty’s teen curators from the Y.Lab Young Curators Program. This exhibition gives insight into the minds of the youth and the neighborhood that is Jamaica. With the help of young artists around NYC, fifteen young curators gathered work based upon the lost archive of J. Butterfly, found in the rubble of old buildings in Jamaica, Queens, as well as on other stories and perspectives on the vibrant cultures of Jamaica.
On Fridays from 3:30 to 5:30, Jameco Vibes teens will host open mic for teens to share the lyrical arts of poetry, rap and song (June 24, July 1, July 8, July 15). On Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:30, Jameco Vibes teens will host movie afternoons featuring video art by local teens and feature films curated by the youth of Y.Lab (June 23, June 30, July 7, July 14).
