We are pleased to invite you to theopening of Mel Chin: All Over the Place, the first major presentation in New York City of conceptual artist Mel Chin in more than 20 years.
With a special Flint Fit fashion presentation at 3:30 PM
Curated by Laura Raicovich, and Manon Slome, Co-Founder and Chief Curator of No Longer Empty, this ambitious project is co-produced by No Longer Empty and the Queens Museum.
Mel Chin: All Over the Place will span Chin’s nearly four decades of artistic practice and will spread out over a number of sites in New York City, including the Queens Museum; Times Square; Broadway-Lafayette subway station and through the ether with a downloadable score and a mixed reality app.
Mel Chin is a multidimensional artist, an alchemist, a comedian, a truth-teller and a prankster. Chin’s art brings together the rigorous study of Eastern and Western thought, conceptual art and Surrealism, a profound commitment to social and environmental justice, and an unfailing desire to expose what we would not otherwise see.
