In partnership with Jamaica Center for Arts & Learning (JCAL), please join us for Undissed and Very Able: A Walk-Through & Conversation organized by 2016 NLE Lab Curators Zalika Azim and Candice Strongwater in conjunction with the exhibition Undissed and Very Able at JCAL.
Undissed and Very Able features a wide range of photographs and digital collages created by over twenty photographers and artists from the Progressive Visions Photo Club. Established in 1997 and based in Woodside, Queens, the Progressive Visions Photo Club works with photographers and artists with various abilities and disabilities as they explore and photograph New York City neighborhoods.
On Saturday, January 14, 11am-12pm, Progressive Visions Photo Club Founder Jim Interlicchio, and exhibiting artists Patrick Emproto, Frank Ferebee, Pedro Cruz, Charles Scaturro and Jennifer Ramos, will guide visitors through their work and share techniques related to the use of DSLRs (digital single-lens reflex cameras), RAW capable point and shoot, and adaptive gear, and the role that photography plays in redefining the self through collage and portraiture.
