May 6, 2011 - June 12, 2011

Four high school students from all across New York City will receive professional training while assisting in specific aspects of staging an exhibition – from curatorial discussions to acting as docents of art exhibitions. They will have an intimate view into all aspects of making an exhibition, from installation to community outreach and from conservation to budgeting, while working closely with artists, arts professionals, and one another. Their experience will center around designing and leading their own unique tour of the exhibition.

Join us and the Youth Docents at the upcoming exhibition, About Face. Our talented and enthusiastic docents are:

Tamika Cruz, Senior at New Design High School
Joseph Strong, Senior at Legacy High School
Maya Wahlen-Kipp Junior at Hunter College High School
Dalia Wolfson, Junior at Hunter College High School

Docents participated in a Media Literacy workshop offered by The LAMP, a non-profit organization creating a grassroots movement to reform and improve media.
