No Longer Empty is pleased to announce a partnership with Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling and Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance on the second annual Artist Residency Program at Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling. 
Disciplines: Visual artists working across disciplines, including performing arts, conceptual art, and textile arts
Location: 898 St Nicholas Avenue in Sugar Hill, a historic district in the northern part of Harlem
Application Deadline: CLOSED
Duration: 11 months
Eligibility: Applicants must reside in NYC and have experience working with children. The artist’s practice should reflect a relationship and sensitivity to the demographics, neighborhood, and/or facets of the unique history of Sugar Hill. 
Support: 450 square-foot studio space and $7,000 honorarium.
Overview and Guidelines: The Sugar Hill Children’s Museum of Art & Storytelling (SHCMAS), in collaboration with No Longer Empty (NLE) and Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance (NoMAA), will select a visual artist for a 11-month residency at the Museum. The residency provides a free, unfurnished 450 square-foot studio space, Wi-Fi, a $7,000 honorarium, production and logistical support. The residency program includes open studio events and a culminating exhibition in the studio. The artist-in-residence must be committed to public engagement through their artistic practice and to working with the Museum’s primary audience of three- to eight-year-old children.
