No Longer Empty (NLE) seeks a part-time, temporary curatorial assistant to provide support for an upcoming group exhibition curated by NLE curators Rachel Gugelberger and Manon Slome.

Position Description:

The curatorial assistant will report to NLE curator Rachel Gugelberger and work closely with NLE curatorial, public engagement and education staff to support the exhibition and programs. Responsibilities include:

  • Artist research and correspondence

  • Artist and exhibition files, and data entry

  • Publication production support

  • Gathering image credit information and permissions, loan and commission forms

  • Generating checklist(s), promotional copy and didactic materials

  • Organizational research and program development support

  • Assistance organizing events and volunteers

  • Conceptualizing social media strategy around the exhibition

  • Creative support with exhibition design and layout


  • Master’s Degree preferable or commensurate exhibition/curatorial experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in and passion for contemporary art, education and community engagement

  • Previous experience working in a non-profit arts organization, museum and/or gallery setting

  • Publication production experience, including proof-reading, copy-editing, and digital image management

  • Strong, critical writing skills

  • Administrative experience

  • Experience in exhibition design and art-handling

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Dropbox, Google Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs and more)

  • Comfortable working both independently and collectively

  • Attention to detail

Schedule and Location:

Part-time, temporary. 2-3 days a week for approximately 12 weeks (days and hours to be determined). Most work will be performed at NLE with some work remotely. Compensation: $20 an hour. Start date: ASAP.
